Alana has an M.S. in Early Childhood Literacy from Wilkes University and a B.S. in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education from Kutztown University. Additionally, she is a certified Reading Specialist. Alana is certified in the state of North Carolina to teach students birth to sixth grade. She has been an educator since 2010 as an older toddler teacher 2010-2015, a kindergarten teacher 2015-2023, and currently as a reading support specialist for K-3rd grade students. When not teaching, Alana works at PBS NC as an Engagement Specialist in the Children’s Media and Engagement Department, bringing fun and educational programs to children across the state.
