Alec is an award-winning educator with over eight years of experience working with students from kindergarten through 12th grade. An alumnus of North Carolina State University, Alec was previously enrolled at Harvard Graduate School of Education, but chose to step away and remain in Durham after being named the 2025 Teacher of the Year for the entire district of Durham Public Schools, continuing his impact directly within the community. As a National Board Certified Teacher Candidate (NBCT), Alec blends innovative strategies like design thinking, socio-emotional learning, and virtual reality to create rigorous, engaging learning experiences.
